Friendly reminder that by this point in time, if the DVD commentary is to be believed and five years have passed, this douchebag is pushing 30
The guys in the commentary mentioned over and over again that the whole passage of time was taken very lightly in the movie, since this story is being re-imagined by old Onceler. Also, they deliberately left the interval between the time Onceler started his company to the chopping down of the last tree ambiguous. So it could have been one, five years? There was a questioning intonation to that statement.
I really should figure out a way to stream the commentary one of these days.
i will always picture the onceler (at this point) as 26- for actual movie, fandom and personal reasons ^^

Geek Girls Run at Wizard World Philly!
Geek Girls Run is an organization made up of runners who happen to be geeks, and geeks who learned they could become runners. We don’t just lace up our sneakers: we fire up the Tron soundtrack, throw on a geeky t-shirt, or even don an entire costume when we hit the pavement. Whether you’re training to take off with the Doctor, fit comfortably into your spandex, or outpace the other red shirts, we’ve got a group for you! Our mission: To foster self-improvement, healthy living, and a safe community where strong women can inspire and encourage each other.
Hey folks! So, for the past few months, I’ve been working with Janine and Caitlin to form what is basically a nationwide geeky running club. We’ve still got a lot of kinks to work out, but the three of us feel really good and really passionate about the group.
Because I’m super stoked about it, I’ll be manning a table to promote GGR Friday 5/31 - Sunday 6/2 at Wizard World Philadelphia. (I’ll try to post a map asap.) You can’t miss me - I’ll be the 6’ Loki (or 5’9” Idris, or slightly shorter running-costume Loki… depending on which day you catch me) handing out postcards. I would absolutely ADORE it if you wanted to stop by and find out more about the group, or just to say hi! <3
